Mountain View, CA (May 13, 2013) – Fenwick & West, a leading technology and life sciences law firm, is pleased to announce that Eva Wang has joined the firm as a partner in its China Business Practice. Eva will continue her focus on U.S. corporate and securities law for Asian technology companies, and for American companies doing business in the region. In addition, Eva will assist Fenwick in applying for a license to practice in China through a representative office in Shanghai.
“We are pleased to welcome Eva to the firm,” said Fenwick Chair, Gordon Davidson. “The firm has long been involved in China and other Asian markets, as our U.S.-based clients have expanded into those markets through joint ventures, and as more Asia-based companies have sought out Fenwick for advice on U.S. legal issues, venture capital financing and acquisitions in the U.S. Through this experience, we have had the opportunity to work with Eva on mutual client projects and on opposite sides of deals, and we have developed a very high regard for Eva. She provides us an exciting opportunity to expand and deepen our China-related work.”
“I have always admired Fenwick & West, and the many talented attorneys here with whom I have had the opportunity to work over the years,” stated Eva Wang. “The firm’s growth, in both its client roster and its geographic reach, have coincided nicely with the growth of my own practice. I feel the cutting-edge capabilities of Fenwick are a perfect match for the next stage of my career, and will be a considerable benefit to my clients, both in Asia and the United States.”
In addition, Carmen Chang, one of the most prominent legal advisors on China in Silicon Valley, will become a Senior China Advisor to the firm on a part-time basis. Ms. Chang will continue to be a Partner and Managing Director for Asia of venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates (NEA), with whom Fenwick also has a long-standing relationship spanning more than two decades.
