Managing IP Honors Fenwick for Innovative, Challenging IP Work

Managing Intellectual Property recognized Fenwick & West with several honors at its 2018 Americas IP Awards. The awards are presented to firms, individuals and companies behind the most innovative and challenging IP work of the past year, as well as those driving the international IP market.

Fenwick was named:

  • U.S. Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year
  • U.S. Transactional Firm of the Year and
  • Patent Prosecution: West Firm of the Year

In addition, litigation partner David Tellekson earned recognition as Washington’s Outstanding Litigator.

Tellekson led a Fenwick team that represented Cray in In re Cray Inc., honored as one of Managing IP’s Milestone Cases of the Year.

The Federal Circuit provided patent venue guidance in its precedential opinion in the case, which followed the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in TC Heartland v. Kraft Foods. In addition to Tellekson, partners Bryan Kohm and Melanie Mayer, along with associates Jonathan McMichael, Yixin Zhang and Reilly Stoler, represented Cray.
