Kenneth Linhares represents high technology companies, ranging from startups to significant public corporations. His practice emphasizes mergers and acquisitions, the formation and counseling of emerging companies, venture capital financings, and the securities reporting obligations of public companies. Ken is also involved in the structuring of joint ventures, corporate spin-offs, employee equity incentives and technology licensing.

Ken has represented both public and private buyers and sellers in a wide variety of M&A transactions, including Microsoft's attempted acquisition of Intuit and HNC Software's acquisition by Fair, Issac & Company. Since the early 1980's he has also been deeply involved in the formation of technology startup companies, their venture capital financings and liquidity or "exit" paths. In addition, Ken counsels public companies on securities compliance and reporting matters.

Ken is a member of the Advisory Board of Santa Clara University's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He has also written for the California Continuing Education of the Bar regarding private company financing structures for privately held high technology companies and contributed to the CEB's Treatise on "Sales and Mergers of California Businesses."
