Hit the Ground Running at Fenwick

Diverse perspectives make us better problem-solvers and a stronger team, and we are always looking for individuals who can contribute to our shared success. Whether you are studying toward a career in law, are a student of sciences or engineering, or are interested in professional internships, Fenwick has opportunities for students of all levels.

Fenwick’s deep roots in tech and life sciences allows students the opportunity to have a front row seat to the evolution of some of the biggest corporations, such as Amazon, Cisco Systems and Google, and the world’s most cutting-edge and disruptive startups, like Figma, Databricks and Relativity Space. Our culture of collaboration and teamwork ensures all members of our firm work together and learn from each other. Our differences are celebrated and are our greatest asset. A founding principle of Fenwick’s ethos – the firm respects the individual and the individual respects the firm.

This is my second summer back at Fenwick, and it has cemented in my mind how special this firm is. Not only is it an incredible place to work if you are interested in startups and technology, but the people here are truly welcoming and supportive."

Fenwick's Summer Program

Every individual joins a mentoring circle—with one partner, one junior associate and one member from the firm’s diversity committee or an affinity group—to help navigate the Fenwick experience. Summer associates are also supported with legal training and development programs, and partake in social and networking opportunities that are a hallmark of our friendly culture and essential to developing a professional career.

Year after year we are wowed by the talented and accomplished people who join our team for the summer. If you are interested in learning more about Fenwick’s summer program, please contact recruiting@fenwick.com.

Our 2022 program included students from 20+ law schools from across the U.S.

Summer associates participate in the firm’s free market system, where they choose assignments from a variety of practice areas, industries and offices in a way that matches their goals and interests. The free market system encourages all associates to take ownership of their careers and build relationships within the firm, all with the support and guidance of the firm’s practice management team. Additionally, summer associates have opportunities to work on meaningful pro bono work.

I enjoyed the ability to work with attorneys from different offices. Combined with the free-market system, the seamless integration with other offices made it easy to find a variety of projects and tailor my experience."

We are committed to maintaining a strong representation of diverse law students in our summer associate program. We believe that a diverse workforce improves our client service and that an inclusive culture fosters cooperation, respect, creativity and mutual understanding. One way in which we promote diversity is by offering scholarships for 1L and 2L law students who belong to historically underrepresented groups in the legal profession or who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion. These scholarships assist with tuition and academic expenses.

Scholarship applications for 1L students open on December 12 and for 2L students on May 15. Check for openings. Please contact recruiting@fenwick.com with any questions.
