Fenwick & West represented D.Light Design, Inc., a manufacturer and distributer of solar lighting and power products for the developing world, in its $15 million Series D financing. Participants in the round include KawiSafi Ventures Fund, Energy Access Ventures, Omidyar Network and NewQuest Capital Partners. An additional $2.5 million in debt funding was provided by SunFunder. The funding round also includes over $5 million in grant funding. Shell Foundation, the U.S. Agency for International Development - Development Innovation Ventures (USAID-DIV) and United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) were key contributors to this round.
