Fenwick & West LLP represented its longstanding client Handspring, Inc. in its merger with with Palm, Inc., announced today and valued at announcement at approximately $170 million. Handspring will merge into Palm immediately following the spin-off to Palm stockholders of PalmSource, a subsidiary that develops and licenses the Palm OS operating system software. The merger marks the return of Handspring founders Jeff Hawkins, Donna Dubinsky and Ed Colligan to Palm, which they also founded in 1992.
