The Deal named Fenwick corporate partner Katherine (Kat) Duncan as one of its Rising Stars for 2021, recognizing this year’s most promising new partners.
Kat advises emerging and high-growth companies on transactions through all stages of their life cycles, from early stage financings through successful exits, whether through initial public offerings or successful acquisitions.
Kat’s capital markets deals have included several high-profile public offerings, including Redfin Corporation’s $159.2 million IPO, as well as IPOs for King Digital Entertainment, Nurix Therapeutics and Smartsheet, and representing the underwriters for Farfetch’s $1.01 billion IPO. She’s also advised public companies on offerings, including Chegg, Redfin and DocuSign.
Her M&A matters include advising Cray, Inc. on its acquisition by Hewlett Packard Enterprise for $1.3 billion, advising Dermira in its $1.1 billion acquisition by Eli Lilly and Company and representing Shutterfly in its $2.7 billion acquisition by Apollo Global Management.
