Michael Sands emphasizes representation of employers in employment and business litigation, with a particular focus on intellectual property disputes in his practce. Mike has handled cases through trial in state and federal courts, and has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mike co-chairs the firm's Electronic Information Management Group, a cross-practice collaboration of attorneys and technologists focused on advising clients in the areas of electronic discovery, information management and retention/destruction protocols.
Mike is a member of the California Bar Association and the American Bar Association Sections on Intellectual Property and Litigation. He currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Northern California Chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
While in law school, Mike served as co-chair of the Honors Moot Court Competition Board Problem Development Committee and was admitted to the Order of Barristers.
