Brent Hoard is a Director in the Privacy & Cybersecurity practice at Fenwick & West. Brent works with clients to develop, implement, assess, and enhance their privacy, information security, and HIPAA programs through governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and standards, data flow analysis, training, metrics, and implementation and remediation plans that enable business.
Prior to joining Fenwick & West, Brent’s consulting experience includes over 5 years as a director and manager at Paul Hastings LLP, Booz Allen Hamilton, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Brent was part of the team serving as experts advising the Office for Civil Rights on changes to the HIPAA Audit Program. Additionally, he practiced corporate law and regulatory and transactional health law for almost 4 years. Before the start of his professional career, Brent pitched in the Minnesota Twins organization from 1998-2004 and was a member of the Twins’ 40-Man Major League Roster in 2003.
Brent is a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), and HIPAA subject matter expert.
