Fenwick is pleased to have achieved Mansfield 4.0 Certification Plus status from Diversity Lab for the diversity of its leadership ranks.
Now in its fifth year, the Mansfield Rule Certification measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ attorneys and attorneys with disabilities for governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities and senior lateral positions.
The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to increase the representation of historically underrepresented lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these opportunities.
The additional “Plus” status indicates that in addition to meeting or exceeding the baseline certification requirements, law firms such as Fenwick have successfully met a minimum threshold of 30 percent underrepresented lawyers serving in a notable number of current leadership roles.
Fenwick was one of the first law firms to sign on to the Mansfield Rule pilot and is currently participating in Mansfield 5.0. The certified firms have completed a rigorous 12-month collaboration with Diversity Lab with built-in measurement, transparency and accountability.
