Fenwick, Two Partners Earn Top Marks in WIPR 2025 Trademark Rankings

World Intellectual Property Review has named Fenwick and two partners among the nation’s best for trademark law.

“Fenwick distinguishes itself as a go-to firm for innovative companies leveraging emerging technologies,” WIPR said, noting Fenwick’s trademark work for Yuga Labs and longtime client Meta. “The firm advises on first-of-their-kind legal issues, new business models, and legal grey areas where technology outpaces regulation. This future-orientated approach is evidenced by the firm’s continuous engagement with cutting-edge areas, including advising on terms of use for companies like OpenAI.”

Karen Webb, Fenwick’s trademark practice area lead, was highly recommended by WIPR, which cited her “extensive experience in the social media and internet space” as a key differentiator helping her advise established and startup companies on brand strategy and protecting brand assets.

Mark Jansen, Fenwick’s industry co-lead for games, blockchain and cryptocurrency, received a top ranking, with WIPR lauding “forward-thinking initiatives, such as introducing the novel proposal of verification marks in Web3 [that] position him as a central figure shaping the future of trademark law in this digital landscape.”
