A top strategic advisor, Antonia transforms companies’ patent portfolios from the ground up within the software and life sciences arenas.

Antonia’s early career focus included working directly in the healthcare and biotech industry, founding several startups and building Facebook’s patent portfolio from the ground up. This distinctive, hands-on background serves as the core of her successful practice at the intersection of software, medical devices and life sciences.

She has earned a reputation as an innovative, sought-after patent attorney who is highly strategic—offering counsel on favorable positioning for acquisitions as well as building long-term portfolio values across technologies and for companies of all sizes.

The volume and depth of Antonia’s patent experience means she has managed many hundreds of patent applications and handled almost every potential patent issue that can crop up.

Her technology focus includes, but is not limited to:

  • Medical and biotechnology devices, digital health, bioinformatics, laboratory automation, genomics and diagnostics
  • Virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR), artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Autonomous vehicles
  • Social networking, online advertising and other software/internet technology

In addition to advising on strategic patent portfolio development and managing international patent portfolios, Antonia has years of experience in intellectual property litigation, conducting IP due diligence for M&A and financing transactions and post grant proceedings.

She is also a prolific writer and frequent speaker on topics ranging from cutting-edge patent-specific topics to diversity issues, including:

  • “Gender Diversity in Patenting: Current Landscape and Recommendations, Intellectual Property Bulletin, Fenwick & West, Fall 2018
  • “Navigating Digital Health Patents in a Post-Alice World,” eHealth Law & Policy Journal, August 31, 2016
