Brian advises life sciences and technology clients as they build and advance their businesses by creating, protecting, and leveraging holistic intellectual property portfolios.

In addition to building strong IP portfolios, he counsels clients on intellectual property issues in corporate transactions, patent infringement, and validity issues in a wide range of industries. His mechanical, electrical, and software experience includes automotive, HVAC systems, energy systems, fuel cells, computer networks, laser optics, manufacturing methods including 3D printing, telecommunications, vending systems, internet retail software, and virtual/augmented reality systems. On the life sciences and medical device side, Brian has notable experience with DNA sequencing systems, artificial bone materials, prosthetics, blood processing systems, cardiac valves and implantation systems, defibrillators, and medical diagnostic systems.

Brian drafts and negotiates technology development agreements, technology/material supply and transfer agreements, and intellectual property licenses. Before becoming an attorney, Brian worked in the automotive aftermarket field.
