Focused on patent litigation, Brian uses his deep experience analyzing patents and prior art to craft offensive and defensive strategies for district court and post-grant proceedings, including inter partes
reviews. He has filed dozens of petitions before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and has experience in jurisdictions throughout the country, including the Western District of Texas, District of Delaware, Central District of California and Western District of Washington.
Brian also has extensive experience counseling some of the world’s leading technology companies on strategic IP portfolio development, including patent protection and technology transactions.
Additionally, Brian advises clients on a variety of data privacy and cybersecurity matters, including compliance issues related to key federal and state laws and regulations, including the California Privacy Rights Act.
He frequently assists companies that are developing new and emerging technologies or operating in changing legal landscapes. Brian has particular expertise in video streaming, internet advertising, machine learning, computer security, electronic commerce, encryption and digital rights management, electronic content delivery, augmented and virtual reality, gaming and blockchain.
