Emily supports the firm’s knowledge management and innovation efforts by collecting, creating and sharing knowledge and expertise across the firm through process, people and technology, improving the quality of legal services provided to the firm’s clients. In her role, Emily participates in streamlining group knowledge-sharing procedures, including developing and maintaining standard forms, exemplar documents and internal knowledge bases for the firm’s technology transactions group, the design of new processes and the vetting of cutting-edge legal technology. She also assists in the application of cross-functional projects designed to increase the accessibility of information both within the firm and between the firm and its clients.
Prior to moving into knowledge management and innovation, Emily was a staff attorney at Fenwick and an attorney with FLEX by Fenwick. Emily has also been a corporate associate at a national law firm and began her career as in-house counsel at a hardware company in the Silicon Valley.
Her representative experience includes:
- Counseling clients with regards to intellectual property and privacy issues that arise in mergers, acquisitions, asset purchases, divestitures and venture capital financings
- Advising public company clients and their boards of directors on securities filings, corporate governance and compliance matters
- Representing startup clients in formation, raising venture funding, human resources, contracts, governance and compliance
