Jessica focuses on developing and implementing privacy programs to help companies achieve and maintain regulatory compliance. Jessica has over 20 years of experience providing transactional and regulatory review, support and guidance with respect to a variety of foreign and domestic privacy laws including HIPAA, state breach notification and security laws, the European Union Data Protective Directive and implementing laws, the EU’s GDPR, Canada’s PIPEDA and PIPA, and the Australian Privacy Act, among others. Jessica has experience facilitating the expansion of businesses into the international domain while mitigating privacy concerns, having served as the lead privacy counsel for multiple companies, mainly within the healthcare industry.
Immediately prior to joining Fenwick, Jessica was the senior director, privacy officer for Teva Pharmaceuticals where she spearheaded the company’s privacy efforts outside of the U.S. to develop and deploy its corporate privacy program. Before that, she served as senior regulatory counsel to Ancestry.com.
Jessica is also the co-director of the Golden Gate University Law School Privacy Law Program in San Francisco (where she previously created and taught upper-level international privacy law courses) and will be teaching international privacy law beginning in the 2019-2020 academic year at Temple University Law School in Philadelphia.
During law school, Jessica was a member of the Cardozo Law Review.
