Li advises clients on domestic and international patent prosecution, portfolio management and patent strategy development. Her technology focus includes medical devices, materials technology, robotics/AI, VR/AR systems, digital health and data analytics. Li’s practice also involves freedom to operate analysis, validity investigation and IP due diligence for startup financing, mergers and acquisitions, and investments.
While in law school, Li was honored with the ABA-Bloomberg BNA Award for Excellence in IP Law (twice), the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in a number of courses. She also received the Emery Merit Scholarship and High Tech Excellence Award from Santa Clara Law. While pursuing her J.D., she served as lead articles editor for the Santa Clara High Technology Law Journal.
Prior to law school, Li was an electrical engineer at GE Healthcare, where she worked on development of next generation medical devices. During her time at GE, Li received GE’s Above and Beyond award every year she worked there. While obtaining her Ph.D. in materials science and engineering, Li conducted research focused on electrical insulation (polymers and nanocomposites) and dielectric phenomena. Li also has experience in robotics design and metallurgy engineering.
