Mia has over 20 years of experience—both as in-house counsel and as a big-law partner—developing innovative strategies to help clients achieve successful outcomes in complex commercial and securities litigation, class actions, mass arbitrations, regulatory inquiries and internal investigations.

Prior to joining Fenwick, Mia was Senior Counsel, Litigation at Uber, where she saved the company billions in potential losses while deescalating media scrutiny before, during and after Uber’s IPO. She also represented the company in numerous securities class actions, JAMS/AAA arbitrations, and internal and regulatory investigations. Before that, Mia served as Corporate Counsel, Litigation at The Clorox Company, where she managed state and federal litigation matters involving product liability, employment, FCC regulations and false advertising claims. Mia played a central role in planning and executing Clorox’s exit from Venezuela and its international treaty arbitration seeking recovery from Venezuela for the expropriation of the company’s Venezuelan operations and assets.

Mia was a litigation partner at a San Francisco-based Am Law “A-List” firm before she went in-house, where she managed complex securities litigation matters and investigations. She spent the first four years of her legal career serving as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice, where she prosecuted criminal appellate and federal habeas corpus cases before California Courts of Appeal, the California Supreme Court, U.S. District Courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
