Richard is firmwide Chair of Fenwick. He advises high technology companies, including internet, telecommunications, software and semiconductor companies. His practice includes startup counseling, venture capital financings, intellectual property protection and licensing, joint ventures and other strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and initial public offerings.

Richard's clients range from venture-financed startups to publicly traded corporations.

Prior to his legal career, Richard was a software and human factors design specialist and a product manager at GO Corporation.
