Lawrence W. Granatelli is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. He focuses his practice on commercial transactions involving intellectual property rights, patent litigation and patent prosecution. He is a registered patent lawyer.
Larry has substantial experience in intellectual property licensing, and in patent infringement and validity matters. He also has substantial experience in patent litigation and technology ownership and licensing issues affecting mergers and acquisitions. Larry dedicates a portion of his practice to securing patent protection for computer and electronics-related inventions. He has conducted intellectual property audits of numerous computer hardware and software companies, and has negotiated commercial and intellectual property agreements in the U.S., China, Japan and Europe.
Larry was in-house technology counsel to Tandem Computers, where he was responsible for all types of intellectual property matters, including U.S. and foreign patents, copyrights and trademarks.
In 2012 and 2014, Intellectual Asset Management magazine named Larry to the IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners. He is also listed as one of the World's Leading 250 Patent & Technology Licensing Lawyers in the IAM 250 for 2010-2012 and has been selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer (2011-2014).
