Fenwick Represents Chai Discovery in $400M Series C Funding

Fenwick represented Chai Discovery, the company engineering AI models to discover new molecules, in its $400 million Series C funding at a valuation of $3.8 billion. The round was led by Index Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, Dimension, with participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Thrive Capital, OpenAI, and Yosemite. 

Chai Discovery will use the funds to acquire more data and computing power to train Chai’s models and hire more engineers. More information can be obtained here.  

The Fenwick transaction team was led by corporate partners Evan Bienstock, Michael Esquivel, and David Horne and included associates Angelo Angelino, Fiona Margareten, and Ben Velaise.
