Fenwick represented Meati Foods, a public-benefit corporation developing a new category of clean, whole-cut meat alternatives, in its $50 million Series B financing. The investment was co-led by new investor BOND and longtime Meati investor Acre Venture Partners, with participation from Prelude Ventures, Congruent Ventures and Tao Capital.
Meati creates high-protein, high-fiber and nutrient-dense meats using mycelium – the muscular root structure of fungi – as its single main ingredient. Meati will use the capital to scale production capacity and launch their products nationally next year. More information can be obtained from the company’s announcement.
The Fenwick transaction team was led by corporate partner Andrew Albertson and associates Ryan McRobert and Tim Wilson.
