May 17, 2006 (Mountain View and San Francisco, CA) – Fenwick & West LLP represented VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN) in its acquisition of GeoTrust, Inc., a supplier of SSL and other solutions to secure e-business transactions. VeriSign will pay approximately $125 million in cash for GeoTrust. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions and is expected to close in the second half of this year.
