Katherine supports life sciences clients of all stages on intellectual property matters. She has particular experience with IP strategy, portfolio development, and patent prosecution in the immunotherapy, gene editing, lipid nanoparticles, antibody, and medical device industries. She has additional experience supporting licensing matters, mergers and acquisitions, and financings by conducting IP diligence and freedom-to-operate, validity, non-infringement, and patentability analyses.

Before transitioning to patent law, Katherine conducted doctoral and postdoctoral research in biochemistry and biophysics at Purdue University.

Katherine maintains a robust pro bono practice and is active in the community. She has provided legal services through Veterans Legal Services and contributed to a successful asylum representation in partnership with Human Rights First. She has also served as a coach and mentor for the M2D2 Challenge, supporting early-stage life sciences and medical device companies.
