Jake counsels public and private companies on international trade and national security matters, including regulatory compliance and internal investigations. Jake advises clients on compliance with economic sanctions programs administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), export controls administered by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), national security reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), foreign ownership, control and influence (FOCI) reviews, and tariff actions. Jake also advises on a range of federal funding and procurement matters for defense and technology companies.

During law school, Jake held law clerk positions with the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of the Chief Counsel for Industry and Security and the U.S. Senate Finance Subcommittee on International Trade, Customs, and Global Competitiveness. He was also an Executive Editor of the Asian Law Review. Prior to law school, Jake worked at an early-stage govtech startup and served in the Office of U.S. Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr.
