Matt advises the firm on legal ethics, conflicts of interest, risk management, and other professional responsibility issues.

For over a decade, Matt has counseled attorneys on conflicts of interest matters. Prior to joining Fenwick, he worked as associate general counsel for a Seattle law firm and as senior staff attorney for an Am Law 100 law firm. He began his legal career as an associate at a New York law firm, where he advised insurers on professional liability claims. He is also a contributor to the Washington State Bar Association’s Ethics School.
