Mona Clee concentrates her practice on ERISA and employee benefit matters, including 401(k) and other tax-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans and cafeteria plans, COBRA, HIPAA, and the role of employee benefit plans in mergers and acquisitions.
After receiving her law degree, Mona practiced employee benefits law at Manatt, Phelps, Rothenberg & Tunney in Los Angeles, McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen in San Francisco, and was a Senior Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in San Francisco, specializing in employee benefits, prior to joining Fenwick & West in 2000. She is a member of the California State Bar and the Western Pension and Benefits Association.
Mona was recognized in 2010, 2014 and 2015 as a Northern California “Super Lawyer” in the area of Employee Benefits. In 2014 she was also ranked as “Very Good Attorney” by Avvo. She has written articles on employee benefits issues for the California Labor and Employment Bulletin and the San Francisco Daily Journal, including:
