Karen counsels established and startup companies on brand strategy and the protection of brand assets, including, brand creation, selection, protection, expansion and enforcement. She has extensive experience in the social media and internet space, both advising platforms in trademark matters and helping brand owners navigate social media.

Karen is active in the International Trademark Association (INTA) and is a member of the Emerging Issues Committee. She was previously on INTA’s Enforcement Committee and she has also been involved with the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association (SFIPLA) as the trademark co-chair.

Karen is consistently ranked as a top trademark attorney by leading publications including Chambers (Band 1), Managing Intellectual Property, The Legal 500, and World Trademark Review 1000. Karen has also been named one of Silicon Valley's to 40 leaders under age 40 by Silicon Valley Business Journal (2017), shortlisted among the best trademark lawyers at Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Americas Women in Business Law Awards (2018) and recognized as one of the top experts in the trademark field by Who’s Who Legal.
