Scott works closely with technology companies to assess risk and guide strategy in complex patent disputes, from earlystage proceedings through trial and appeal. He regularly represents clients in diverse high technology fields, including consumer electronics, software, wireless communications, and artificial intelligence. Scott uses his background in computer science and prior engineering experience as a U.S. Naval Officer to resolve the complex problems faced by his clients. Scott’s technical, trial, and appellate experience has positioned him as a go-to attorney for inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and district court litigation.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Scott served for five years as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, where he worked as an electrical engineering officer and navigator.

  • Represented a large multi-national technology company in numerous patent litigation matters in the District of Delaware, the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board in matters involving digital rights management, cloud computing architecture, wireless systems, and reconfigurable computing.
  • Represented a large multinational technology company in numerous patent litigation matters in the Eastern District of Texas and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board in matters involving digital rights management and secure communication technology.
  • Lead counsel for video game maker before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board in a matter involving server technology.
