    Other Community Volunteer Opportunities

Fenwick is proud to be in service of individuals seeking critical legal assistance, regardless of what language they speak, and we believe it is especially important to be able to assist those from traditionally underserved communities.  To that end, we are seeking out additional Spanish speaking volunteers to serve as interpreters for a variety of our pro bono projects.  Fenwick collaborates with many legal aid organizations who operate with extremely limited budgets and staffing, which often means they cannot provide interpreters for matters they refer our way. Therefore, we aim to broaden the pool of volunteers we can reach out to as we continue our efforts to increase access to justice and provide legal services to all clients who need them.

We are currently seeking Spanish speaking volunteers who can serve as interpreters for a variety of pro bono clinics.  Our clinics are typically one-day clinics that last between 3 to 6 hours (with more specific details being provided for each clinic above), and the content of the interpretation generally involves primarily biographical data.  In the future, we also may need interpreters to join our attorneys on a variety of more long-term matters/cases, immigration and otherwise; we would love to know if we could call on you for these larger projects as well if the need arises.

Please contact our Pro Bono Department at the links above if you would like to serve as a volunteer interpreter for a particular clinic. We would be glad to have attorneys and non-attorneys alike join us in our work and help those who need Spanish-language interpretation!  You can also let us know HERE if you are interested in assisting with interpretation for a full-scope case in the future. We will add you to our volunteer database and contact you as opportunities to participate arise.

We greatly appreciate the assistance of volunteer interpreters, as it allows us to reach so many more people who need these essential legal services. We truly could not do this work without you and hope you will consider joining us for a future clinic or case!
