Law Students

Fenwick offers law school students a rare mix of opportunities. As a midsize firm with a national presence, our platform supports vibrant relationships with established companies such as Amazon, Cisco Systems and Google, and yet our scale gives new lawyers opportunities to do consequential work early on and rise quickly in their careers.

Fenwick's Summer Program

At Fenwick, summer associates will work on real-world assignments critical to our clients’ business strategies. Every individual joins a mentoring circle—with one partner, one junior associate and one member from the firm’s diversity committee or an affinity group—to help navigate the Fenwick experience. Summer associates are also supported with legal training and development programs, and partake in social and networking opportunities that are a hallmark of our friendly culture and essential to developing a professional career.

Summer associates participate in the firm’s free market system, where they work closely with the recruiting team on choosing work assignments from a wide variety of opportunities. The free market system encourages all associates to take ownership of their careers, build varied relationships and find interesting work with the support and guidance of the firm’s practice management team. Additionally, summer associates have opportunities to choose meaningful pro bono work.
