Fenwick & West represented Blue River Technology Inc., a leader in applying machine learning to agriculture, in its pending acquisition by Deere & Company (NYSE: DE), a global leader in providing advanced products and services to those linked to the land. John Deere will invest $305 million to fully acquire Blue River. The transaction is expected to close in mid-September.
The acquisition will allow John Deere to utilize Blue River’s advanced technologies using computer vision, robotics and machine learning to help smart machines detect, identify and make management decisions to help farmers optimize inputs to the field.
