Fenwick Broadens Powerful Trademark Practice, Adds Partner Jeffrey Greene

Mountain View, CA (April 12, 2017)– Fenwick & West, a leading technology and life sciences law firm, announced today that Jeffrey H. Greene has joined the firm as a trademark partner in its New York office.

Greene joins Fenwick’s international trademark practice, ranked by numerous organizations as one of the top trademark practices globally for strategic trademark counseling and protection, where he will counsel clients on all aspects of global trademark portfolio management. His focus on branding and the full trademark lifecycle includes portfolio development, advertising, licensing, and enforcement.

“We are delighted to welcome Jeff to the Fenwick team,” said trademark practice group leader Sally Abel. “The practical, strategic and business-oriented guidance he’s known for is a great fit with our trademark practice. We serve many of the world’s leading companies developing life-changing, innovative technologies, and Jeff’s deep experience and leadership in global trademark portfolio management position him well to be an invaluable asset to, and value-add for, our clients.”

“Fenwick’s world class IP practice is central to the firm’s unrelenting focus on serving tech and life sciences clients and a key strategic differentiator,” said Greene. “I’m thrilled to join Fenwick’s trademark practice which enjoys a stellar and well-deserved reputation. The firm’s robust IP-centric platform and collaborative culture are a great match for the needs of my clients and for my well-established trademark practice.”

Greene handles strategic counseling on trademark selection, clearance, prosecution and global portfolio management for technology and life sciences companies as well as for those in industries converging with technology such as financial services (FinTech), consumer products, retail and fashion.

Honored by Chambers, Managing Intellectual Property, World Trademark Review and The Legal 500 for his trademark work, Greene received his law degree from Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Cornell University. He is an active member of the International Trademark Association, currently serving on the U.S. Roundtables Project Team, and the Leadership Development Committee, where he co-chairs the Leadership Lab Subcommittee. Greene is admitted to practice in New York.

Fenwick's trademark practice is an international leader in strategic trademark counseling and protection. In addition to prosecuting thousands of U.S. trademark applications, the group has handled numerous oppositions and cancellation actions before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and handles international trademark and domain registration and policing for some of the world’s largest technology trademark portfolios. World Trademark Review 1000 recently honored Fenwick among the United States’ best firms for trademark work. The group also consistently receives recognition as a leading trademark firm from organizations including Chambers, The Legal 500, Managing Intellectual Property and U.S. News – Best Lawyers.

“One of the goals of our New York office is enabling our addition of exceptional talent in New York to support our firm-wide technology and life sciences-focused practice,” said Fenwick chair Richard Dickson. “Jeff’s addition is confirming of that goal as he will be a tremendous asset to our client base.”

A core group of lawyers from Fenwick’s Silicon Valley office relocated to New York in mid-2016 to address growing client demand from the area’s technology, life sciences and investment communities. Fenwick’s New York office has more than doubled in size since opening, including lateral partner additions Ian Goldstein, Ethan Skerry and now Jeffrey Greene.
