Christopher (Chris) King has over 12 years of experience in domestic and international patent prosecution, portfolio management and counseling, and patent due diligence and litigation, and has obtained several hundred domestic and international patents for his clients, which range from startups to Fortune 500 companies. Chris’s practice focuses on the software and computer science fields, particularly machine learning, cryptography, web advertising, social networks, programming languages and software engineering.

Chris spends considerable time researching and strategizing about patent eligibility issues under 35 U.S.C. § 101, especially as it pertains to software inventions. Chris also co-manages Fenwick & West’s widely-read Bilski Blog​, and regularly contributes to Fenwick’s Intellectual Property Bulletin. He enjoys analyzing and formulating standards for improving patent methodologies, as well as developing software when he can find spare time.
